Srila Prabhupada’s Disappearance

For those who made the extra endeavour, the day began at Srila Prabhupada’s Puspa Samadhi with Mangal Arati offered to Srila Prabhupada at 04h15. The devotees gathered in large numbers, making getting into the Puspa Samadhi itself a great challenge. Still, being in Srila Prabhupada’s presence at that auspicious time on this special day made it worth the while.

Devotees then dashed off to Sri Mayapur Candradoya Mandir and immersed themselves in the Mangal Arati there. An extra large crowd was present throughout due to the Kartik Yatra of 4000 devotees. To manage this in a more organized manner, the Guru puja to Srila Prabhupada was done separately for matajis and prabhus. HG Mahatma Prabhu lead a heart-felt kirtan as HH Radhanath Swami performed the arati to Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada was then carried on a palanquin into the large pandal outside, where he delivered the morning’s Srimad Bhagavatam class. The program continued with glorifications from disciples of Srila Prabhupada and guest speakers from the Gaudiya Math. Anyone hearing the glories of Srila Prabhupada from his beloved disciples would surely have had a tear in their eye, such was the genuine loving sentiment expressed.

There was an abhishek performed for the small murti of Srila Prabhupada, whilst the devotees happily chanted kirtan and bhajans. After Srila Prabhupada was dried and dressed, he was offered a huge feast. HH Bhakti Purusottama Maharaj then lead the devotees into the puspanjali ceremony. HH Radhanath Swami then performed a grand arati for Srila Prabhupada. Devotees were then dispersed to various serving points to honor a magnificent feast.

Jaya Srila Prabhupada ki jaya!
