2013, Navadvip Mandala Parikram
This morning’s Parikram started at AarmGhat, the place where Lord Caitanya manifested a mango tree, which produced the sweetest mangoes that had neither skin nor seeds. HH Gopal Krishna Goswami and Bhakti Vinod Maharaj made the following points. We then went to Suvarna Vihar. Suvarna means golden and Vihara moving. This of course refers to Lord Gauranga. At this place there are stones from Satyajuga, which are from the palace of King Suvarna Sen. Narada Muni preached to this same king and he became a great devotee who began using everything he had to serve the devotees. Pure Bhakti comes from faith.
Rajendranandan Prabhu spoke the following important points. Navadvip and Vrndavana are eternal abodes of the Lord, and when the Lords are there then he is above the modes of nature. Our material desires prevent the dham from revealing itself to us; Maya covers us, not the dham. HH Bhakti Dhira Damodar Maharaj spoke of the Pastime of Lord Caitanya and the little puppy dog, and how Lord saved this dog very quickly; similarly the Lord can also save us. The only problem is we have duplicity and crookedness; therefore we take longer than the dog to be saved.
HH Lokanatha Maharaj mentioned that we should reject liberation. And that Prem Kirtan was the best Kirtan to have, and Jaggannandan Pandit said he did not know how the Kirtan was happening, as he was sure that Lord Caitanya was entering his body and singing. We had ecstatic kirtan at the house of Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur. We then moved to Surabi Kunj, the place where both Lord Nityananda and Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur lived. Here HH Gopal Krishna Goswami made the point that the best thing to do is to serve others. Bhakti Narasimha Swami said how spiritual sound is perfect information.
HH Bhakti Caru Swami said that spiritual enjoyment could become so great that the small problems we experience become meaningless. And recited how Bhakti Vinod Thakur discovered the correct Mayapur with the help of Jagganth Das Babaji Maharaj. Maharaj also sang poem of Bhakti Vinod Thakur in English and Bengali bhajan.
HH Jayapataka Swami said that we couldn’t see the eternally resident Surabi cow because we are not yet qualified for this, and we need to become more humble for this mercy. Maharaj also mentioned how BHakti Vinod thakur had a schedule for his daily life of family time, working, writing, preaching, eating, and sleeping. When he wanted to take Sanyas, Srila Jagganth Das Babaji Maharaj told him he is already above Sanyas. Also Sri Krishna came in a dream and told Bhakti Vinod Thakur to chant near the Samadhi of Haridas Thakur, and now this place is ISKCON Puri. We look forward to tomorrows intensely purifying, and ecstatic Parikram.
Your servant, Gauranga Das
