I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. I offer my respectful obeisances to Srī Vārṣabhānavī-devī-dayita dāsa [another name of Srīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī], who is favored by Srīmatī Rādhārāṇī and who is the ocean of transcendental mercy and the deliverer of the science of Kṛṣṇa. I offer my respectful obeisances unto you, the personified energy of Srī Caitanya’s mercy, who deliver devotional service which is enriched with conjugal love of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, coming exactly in the line of revelation of Srīla Rūpa Gosvāmī. I offer my respectful obeisances unto you, who are the personified teachings of Lord Caitanya. You are the deliverer of the fallen souls. You do not tolerate any statement which is against the teachings of devotional service enunciated by Srīla Rūpa Gosvāmī.
Today, 9th February, 2015, ISKCON Mayapur celebrated the auspicious appearance day of His Divine Grace (HDG) A.C. Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura, the spiritual master of HDG A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He was the son of Bhaktivinoda Thakur, a great acarya in the line of Gaudiya Vaisnavism. His prominent contributions are in form of His writings , 64 Gaudiya Mathas and giving the world a disciple (Srila Prabhupada) who preached the message of Lord Caitanya all over the world.
In the morning Temple class, HG Hari Vilasa Prabhu told that Srila Prabhupada and Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati are still present with us. We can associate with Them through Their vani and can please Them by following the process of bhakti given down in parampara (especially sincerely trying to chant Holy Names of the Lord).
On this occasion, a 12 hour Harinaam was organized in the Panca Tattva Hall. Many devotees including sanyasis and GBC members gathered in the Panca Tattva Hall around 12 noon to offer Pushpanjali to the Deity of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura. After the pushpanjali, HH Bhakti Charu Swami sung Gurv astaka prayers in His honor. HH Subhag Swami performed a Maha arati of His deity. The event concluded with distribution of many varieties of prasadam to the assembled devotees.
Later in the day, a Ratha yatra was organized. The Deity of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura went in the Ratha yatra procession from Mayapur bus stand to Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mission and beyond. This was accompanied with an ecstatic Harinaam sankirtan and distribution of prasadam. On this day, many devotees spent time to value the contribution made by Him and prayed for His mercy. Please view the images of the festivities in the gallery above.
