The water level has risen about 1 ft since yesterday, there have been reports of a further increase in water level to be expected later today.
Our food relief program is going along and we are assisting many villagers in this time of need.
The time frame that this flood will last is still unknown, as this is the earliest flood to ever hit the area. Floods usually come near the end of the monsoon season, but this flood has come right in the middle, leaving 6 more weeks of monsoon season. Theoretically this flood could last for 4-6 more weeks.
This will cause many problem for the residents of the affected areas. So this is why we need your support.
You can donate to help us purchase food for distribution to the villagers in need:
- Biscuits packet – Rs.5
- Chipped Rice and Gur – Rs.10
- Khichdi – Rs.15 per plate
We are planning to feed at least 50,000 flood affected people.
