Sri Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama:Day2 &3

T he last 2 days of Parikrama have been such an unforgettable experience for all the pilgrims. In the second day we visited Godrumadvipa, the island where kirtan is the process. This is where Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura gave comments on the Sri Caitanya Caritamrta and wrote all his songs.
We were in Surabhi kunj where Sri Nityananda prabhu started His first Namahatta and from that very place the incredible mercy of Lord Nityananda crossed the whole world and touch the hearts of millions of living entities. So walking in that place, listening to the lectures and chanting gives us the chance to build a very strong connection with the Holy Name.

“The news of its great results is that He is selling the pure Holy Name in that market-place for the price of only one’s faith”

“Lord Nityananda, the proprietor of the market, seeing all the devotees become attracted, is selling them the Holy Name after bargaining with them”

Boro Sukher Gabhor Gai, 2 -3
Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur

Those two verses above describe the sublime activity of Lord Nityananda.. giving us a glimpse of how He was performing His blissful service.

In the evening time we had a great fortune to hear from one of the most learned devotees about the Holy Dhama, His Grace Sankarshan Nitai prabhu. He was speaking about Nityananda prabhu’s glories service in West Bengal.

“…so in order to preach in Bengal we need the mercy for Nityananda prabhu… once Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came to Bengal and Nityananda prabhu was in a house of Raghava Pandit , in Panihati.. how many of you had been to Panihati? If you never been there please try to go, this is a very powerful and merciful place of Lord Nityananda. So Nityananda prabhu came there and he started Kirtan, this pastime is very important pastimes for all of us. Nityananda prabhu stayed in Panihati for three months and what Nityananda prabhu was doing? Nityananda prabhu was continuously chanting and dancing for three months and how many devotees came and attended it? Vrindavana das Thakur is explaining “they were countless” Who was singing?… Madhava gosh, Vasu gosh, Govinda gosh , they were all singing and Lord Nityananda was dancing and a widest Harinama Sankirtan.. kirtan was going on.. devotees were coming and coming and the whole place was filled up with devotees at Panihati, everything was packed, there was no place on the ground, no place on the houses, no place on the roof everything was filled up.. now the only option were the trees, so the devotees started to climb on the threes, then all the branches were filled up and Vrindavana das Thakur was explaining that the devotees were walking on the leaves of the trees… the devotees were in the leaves of the trees and Nityananda prabhu, what He was doing? He was dancing, singing and looking at the devotees..”

He finalised by telling that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was giving love of God in the whole South India by embracing people and Sri Nityananda prabhu was giving love of God only by His glance…. He was looking at the devotees and they were fainted with the symptoms of Krsna Prema visible in their bodies.

The third day of parikram was very blissful and important, this is the time we had darshan of the most beautiful Dhamesvara Mahaprabhu and we had an ecstatic Harinama Sankirtan in the streets of Navadvipa town.. with hundreds of people following us. We visited the island of Madhyadvipa where the process is Smaranam(remembrance). We crossed the Gauranga setu bridge where we had the darshan of the Panchaveni (the confluence of the main 5 holy rivers). We had class at Kurukshetra in Navadvipa dham, Brahma puskara and Praudha Maya Mandir.
In the evening we had a class given by HH Bhakti Nrsimha Swami about the glories of the pastimes at Srinivas Pandit’s house, given to the devotees a vision how things were back in those amazing days when the Pancha Tattva were present on earth.
