The great sages said: 

"The holy Ganga descended from the heavenly planets to deliver all the conditioned souls from the vast ocean of material existence. Ganga-devi emanated from the lotus feet of Lord Hari and so everyone happily glorifies her. The water of the Ganga is enjoyed by the demigods who reside on the peak of Mount Sumeru. By bathing in her water, all one’s sinful reactions are vanquished. By pleasing Ganga-devi, one can easily gain release from the bondage of material existence."

"O Mother Bhagirathi! You give happiness to everyone. The significance of your holy waters is sung in the Vedas. I am ignorant and am not capable to comprehend your importance. O Devi! you are full of mercy. Please protect me."

Nityananda Prabhu’s prediction: 

"He [Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu] is the guardian of Mayapur. This is where the praudhha maya energy,yoga-maya, in charge of spiritual perception is eternally situated. When our Lord disappears, by His desire, the Ganges will swell. The Ganges water will almost cover Mayapur for a hundred years,and then the water will again recede. For some time only the place will remain, devoid of houses.Then again, by the Lord's desire, this place will become prominent, and people will live in Mayapur as before. All these ghatas on the bank of the Ganges will again be manifest, and the devotees will build temples of the Lord. One exceedingly wonderful temple will appear from which Gauranga's eternal service will be preached everywhere. Praudha Maya and Vrddha Siva will again come and perform their duties of revealing the spiritual dhama according to the Lord's desire."

Ganga Ghat Development in Sri Mayapur

Year after year,  increasing number of pilgrims are visiting Sri Mayapur dhama, to have darshan of Their Lordships, to go on Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama and to worship and take dip in the holy waters of Mother Ganga.

Our annual Ganga Pooja in Sri Mayapur is celebrated in an elaborate way as in Haridwar. This and other year round festivals attract hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to Mayapur.

O Mother! You fulfill all the desires of the ones devoted to you. Those who bow down to you do not have to grieve.

Ganges in Mayapur is very dear to Srila Prabhupada. He wished to have his residence in Mayapur  close to river Ganga so that it is convenient to take bath in the holy river. He wished to have a nice ghat in Ganga so that devotees can offer proper worship to Mother Ganga.

With the blessings of acaryas and vaisnavas, West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation has entered into a joint venture with ISKCON Mayapur for developing Prabhupada Ghat.

Recently a 100 feet long floating jetty and gangway has been erected. A guest reception building with waiting area, and wash room is complete. However the following facilities need to be created to make it operational.
