Sri Indulekha Sakhi is a confidential and devoted friend of Sri Radha and Krishna, known for her beauty, skills, and dedication in serving Them. Named “Indulekha” meaning “moonbeam,” she leads gopis in making ornaments, clothes, and auspicious kavachas, protecting the Divine Couple’s treasury, and engaging in various arts like sewing, painting, gemology, palmistry, and snake-charming. Her kunja, Purnendu, is a radiant white sanctuary where Radha-Krishna enjoy Their pastimes.
Indulekha also plays a key role in Radha-Krishna’s lila, assisting in playful pastimes, including helping Radha disguise herself as Krishna to teach a loving lesson and orchestrating Their joyful reunions. She exemplifies devotion, leadership, and the art of serving Radha-Madhava with love and skill.
Today, September 3rd, we will be celebrating Sri Indulekha Devi's appearance day! Please join us at the temple on this special day for the program at 4 pm. We will have space blocked off for all the devotees so that everyone can gather comfortably and take part in the program.
We invite all devotees to personally read a short love message for the Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and to present a dress design for Their pleasure. Since one of Indulekha sakhi's main services is to string a variety of garlands from flowers, fruits and ribbons as well as jewellery from beads, please bring garlands to personally offer our Lords in honour of Indulekha Devi's garland seva. You will have the chance to personally offer to Radha-Madhava!
Devotees are also welcome to prepare bhoga to offer to Radha Madhava and the Ashta-sakhis.
Please join us to celebrate Indulekha Sakhi with your friends and families!
We hope to see you there!
Your servants,
