Camp organized by Mayapur Local Preaching

F or the pleasure of their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhava, Pancatattva, Nrisimha Dev and His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, Mayapur Local Preaching (MLP) held a ‘Summer camp’ on 13-14th June. More than 200 Bhakti Vriksha devotees participated in this program. On 13th morning, devotees arrived from different places like Krishnanagar, Dhubulia, Bhaluka, Srirampur etc. at ‘Gita Bhavan’. They stayed for 13th & 14th and on 15th morning they returned home after having breakfast Prasadam.

Most of the programs were held at Gita Bhavan Stage on ground floor. On 13th morning, H. G. Sankarsan Nitai Pr. inaugurated the convention by igniting lamp, followed by mangalacaran, bhajan Kirtan and an introductory lecture. At 4 pm there was a presentation on the topic ‘Sambandha-Abhidheya-Prayojana’ by H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Pr. At 6:30 pm, devotees joined sandhya aroti in the Radha Madhava temple and came back for a dance program which was performed by the Bhakti Vriksha Goshthi kids. Later, there was a drama on the ‘Appearance of Lord Jagannath’ by the Mayapur Youth Group.

Next day, devotees attended Mangal arati at 4:30 am in the Radha Madhava temple. Soon after that, they went to Godrumadvip after crossing Jalangi River by boat. H.H. Gouranga Prem Swami Maharaj explained the glory of Godrumadvip, Surabhi kunja and the contribution of Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur towards Hare Krishna movement. Then the whole party walked to Svananda Sukhada kunja to visit Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur’s Bhajan Kutir and Gour-Gadadhar deities. They returned back to Mayapur, had breakfast and rest. At 12:00 noon, H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Pr. spoke on ‘Ganga and Purusottam mahatmya’.

At 6:30 pm, they all assembled on the stage for farewell ceremony. First, there were video presentations on ‘TOVP’ project, MLP structure, MLP yearly Book Distribution report followed by a short and encouraging lecture by H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Prabhu. Then devotees expressed their realizations. This program was so pleasing to them that many of the participants expressed their joy from the heart saying that instead of two days it should have been at least for 3 days. Finally, H.G. Sankarsan Nitai Prabhu distributed certificates for different Siksha levels as well as certificates acknowledging different services performed by the devotees on behalf of MLP throughout the year. At the end, all participants danced enthusiastically in Harinam Sankirtan.

Every day there was delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner prasadam for the registered devotees. The whole program was very enthusing to all. After all, the whole program had been successfully handled by MLP coordinator H.G. Mathuresh Prabhu. Thank you very much for reading. Haribol!
