Lord Nityananda, an incarnation of Lord Balarama is one of principal associates of Lord Caitanya.  Like Lord Balarama, He is regarded as the original spiritual master whose mercy is essential to attain love of Radha and Krsna. ISKCON Mayapur was in a special festive mood on His most auspicious appearance day i.e. 1^st Feb, 2015. The event day being a Sunday, attracted many devotees from nearby areas to visit the Temple.

The morning Temple lecture was dedicated in glorification of Lord Nityananda.  Nitai Pada Kamala, a famous bhajan by Srila Narotama Das Thakur was sung during the lecture. The song emphasized the need to humbly take shelter of Lord Nityananda to obtain relief from material existence and attain eternal spiritual bliss. ISKCON devotees see Srila Prabhupada as the representative of Lord Nityananda and follow Him.

A 12 hour maha Harinaam was specially organized to celebrate the occasion. From 11 am to 12 noon, there was a maha abhishek of Lord Nityananda with various liquids such as honey, ghee and multi-coloured flowers. The abhishek remnants were very enthusiastically accepted by the assembled devotees. Next, a huge feast was offered to Lord. Finally, there was a Maha arati and distribution of Lord’s Mahaprasadam to devotees.
